iPhone 4S launches in over 20 countries

Electronista reports the iPhone has launched in 20 additional countries , including Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, the Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. With the sole exception of China, Apple has now launched its newest iPhone in all of its major markets. Electronista also points out that, as usual, many nations are paying incredible markups for Apple’s products.

Apple seeds OS X Lion 10.7.3 to testers

Apple has seeded another build of OS X Lion 10.7.3 to testers. According to 9to5Mac, this third build of 10.7.3 addresses issues with Address Book, iCal, Mail, Spotlight, and Safari. Apple lists no known issues with this build of 10.7.3, and it may be the last developer build issued before the 10.7.3 update goes public with the usual bug fixes and enhancements to OS X

iTunes version of Avatar will let users control scenes, more

Apple has just announced a special iTunes version of James Cameron’s Avatar that will not only include some special extras like the film’s script and a big 1,700 picture special effects gallery of pictures to browse through, but allow viewers to actually control 17 scenes as they happen, switching between different views like the finished film, rough CG cuts, and the original live action motion capture footage. Viewers will also be able to “x-ray” these scenes, moving a special view around the screen that will show off the original live action footage, superimposed over the finished movie. Sounds pretty awesome to us.
